Narrative:
On jun/xx/98, took off from LG3 airport to vny for a multi- engine training flight. After working in closed traffic pattern at vny runway 16R, requested an ILS to runway 16R for a touch and go. I was under the hood because it's an IFR maneuver. This was cleared by vny tower, at MDA at runway 16R. My CFI advised me to look up. I took my hood off and the aircraft was very well placed for a nice landing. We touched just beyond the runway numbers, with no power. As the aircraft was rolling, I gave maximum throttle for the takeoff since we originally requested a touch and go. Just around mid- field, just before takeoff, the right engine quit. The plane was trying to roll to the right, due to the left engine functioning perfectly. When we realized this, I brought the power back immediately on both engines. But, due to the power created by the left engine, the aircraft went over the grass patch in between the runway 16R and taxiway. The right flap slightly touched a sign on the grass. Aircraft came to a complete stop on the taxiway. No structural damage, nor any injuries.

Title: R ENG ON A PIPER SENECA, PA34-200 (PASE), QUIT DURING TOUCH AND GO CAUSING THE TRAINEE PLT TO LOSE CTL OF THE ACFT AND GO OFF THE SIDE OF THE RWY THROUGH A GRASSY AREA BTWN THE RWY AND PARALLEL TXWY. THERE WERE NO INJURIES TO THE TRAINEE AND HIS INSTRUCTOR, AND ONLY MINOR DAMAGE TO THE R WING FLAP AND RWY SIGN IN THE GRASS.
Narrative: ON JUN/XX/98, TOOK OFF FROM LG3 ARPT TO VNY FOR A MULTI- ENG TRAINING FLT. AFTER WORKING IN CLOSED TFC PATTERN AT VNY RWY 16R, REQUESTED AN ILS TO RWY 16R FOR A TOUCH AND GO. I WAS UNDER THE HOOD BECAUSE IT'S AN IFR MANEUVER. THIS WAS CLRED BY VNY TWR, AT MDA AT RWY 16R. MY CFI ADVISED ME TO LOOK UP. I TOOK MY HOOD OFF AND THE ACFT WAS VERY WELL PLACED FOR A NICE LNDG. WE TOUCHED JUST BEYOND THE RWY NUMBERS, WITH NO PWR. AS THE ACFT WAS ROLLING, I GAVE MAX THROTTLE FOR THE TKOF SINCE WE ORIGINALLY REQUESTED A TOUCH AND GO. JUST AROUND MID- FIELD, JUST BEFORE TKOF, THE R ENG QUIT. THE PLANE WAS TRYING TO ROLL TO THE R, DUE TO THE L ENG FUNCTIONING PERFECTLY. WHEN WE REALIZED THIS, I BROUGHT THE PWR BACK IMMEDIATELY ON BOTH ENGS. BUT, DUE TO THE PWR CREATED BY THE L ENG, THE ACFT WENT OVER THE GRASS PATCH IN BTWN THE RWY 16R AND TXWY. THE R FLAP SLIGHTLY TOUCHED A SIGN ON THE GRASS. ACFT CAME TO A COMPLETE STOP ON THE TXWY. NO STRUCTURAL DAMAGE, NOR ANY INJURIES.
