Narrative:
2 hour ground delay in ewr holding area (ball park) for WX at destination (atl). Passenger confronted me (the captain) 3 previous times. The 4TH confrontation she threw a temper tantrum by throwing herself on the floor and flailing her arms and legs around, causing other passenger to move to safety. I asked for and received intervention from ewr police. The police asked me to go to the station house to sign a complaint. This took 1 1/2 hours. The aircraft was in parking with APU running and first officer onboard.
