Narrative:
On taxi out we were given a runway change, we briefed the change in takeoff data, but reviewed the 'non-jet' departure procedures on the logan 4. Supplemental information from acn 404671: clearance delivery assigned us a logan two departure. I briefed SID off runway 9 which was runway heading to 5000 ft. After start-up first officer called ground and we were directed to taxi to runway 4R. I rechked SID, however I read the (non-jet aircraft) portion of the SID which stated fly runway heading, maintain 5000 ft. On departure I should have turned right to 090 degrees at 4 DME. I climbed runway heading. At 6 DME boston departure questioned my heading and instructed us to turn left to 280 degrees. I believe, in the future, a more careful examination of the SID will prevent a recurrence. Supplemental information from acn 404666: departure factor affecting performance. Darkness, unfamiliarity with airport, change in plan while taxiing, pressure to stay in sequence and on schedule, changing performance data. Recommend trying to keep ATIS runway assignments consistent with controller assignments and emphasizing that changes in plans require extra aircrew vigilance to avoid error.

Title: AN ACR FREIGHTER FAILS TO TURN AT THE SPECIFIED DISTANCE WHEN DEPARTING BOS RWY 4 ON THE SID. DEP CTLR ALERTS THE CREW AND GIVES A CORRECTING CLRNC. THERE HAD BEEN A RWY CHANGE.
Narrative: ON TAXI OUT WE WERE GIVEN A RWY CHANGE, WE BRIEFED THE CHANGE IN TKOF DATA, BUT REVIEWED THE 'NON-JET' DEP PROCS ON THE LOGAN 4. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 404671: CLRNC DELIVERY ASSIGNED US A LOGAN TWO DEP. I BRIEFED SID OFF RWY 9 WHICH WAS RWY HEADING TO 5000 FT. AFTER START-UP FO CALLED GND AND WE WERE DIRECTED TO TAXI TO RWY 4R. I RECHKED SID, HOWEVER I READ THE (NON-JET ACFT) PORTION OF THE SID WHICH STATED FLY RWY HEADING, MAINTAIN 5000 FT. ON DEP I SHOULD HAVE TURNED R TO 090 DEGS AT 4 DME. I CLBED RWY HEADING. AT 6 DME BOSTON DEP QUESTIONED MY HEADING AND INSTRUCTED US TO TURN L TO 280 DEGS. I BELIEVE, IN THE FUTURE, A MORE CAREFUL EXAMINATION OF THE SID WILL PREVENT A RECURRENCE. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 404666: DEP FACTOR AFFECTING PERFORMANCE. DARKNESS, UNFAMILIARITY WITH ARPT, CHANGE IN PLAN WHILE TAXIING, PRESSURE TO STAY IN SEQUENCE AND ON SCHEDULE, CHANGING PERFORMANCE DATA. RECOMMEND TRYING TO KEEP ATIS RWY ASSIGNMENTS CONSISTENT WITH CTLR ASSIGNMENTS AND EMPHASIZING THAT CHANGES IN PLANS REQUIRE EXTRA AIRCREW VIGILANCE TO AVOID ERROR.
