Narrative:
After takeoff at mco, assigned 8000 ft. Climbing through 7000 ft with rate of climb at 4000-6000 FPM, aircraft passed through 8000 ft while attempting to level off. Reached 8300 ft with conflicting traffic at 9000 ft. Returned to 8000 ft as traffic passed at 9000 ft. Both controller and TCASII responded immediately. Convective conditions contributed to excessive climb rate. Overall problem -- did not anticipate leveloff soon enough.

Title: FLC OF A B757 OVERSHOT INITIAL DEP ALT RESULTING IN A TCASII RA AND ATC INTERVENTION DUE TO CONFLICTING TFC 1000 FT ABOVE. THE FO FLYING RETURNED THE ACFT IMMEDIATELY TO ASSIGNED ALT.
Narrative: AFTER TKOF AT MCO, ASSIGNED 8000 FT. CLBING THROUGH 7000 FT WITH RATE OF CLB AT 4000-6000 FPM, ACFT PASSED THROUGH 8000 FT WHILE ATTEMPTING TO LEVEL OFF. REACHED 8300 FT WITH CONFLICTING TFC AT 9000 FT. RETURNED TO 8000 FT AS TFC PASSED AT 9000 FT. BOTH CTLR AND TCASII RESPONDED IMMEDIATELY. CONVECTIVE CONDITIONS CONTRIBUTED TO EXCESSIVE CLB RATE. OVERALL PROB -- DID NOT ANTICIPATE LEVELOFF SOON ENOUGH.
