Narrative:
After landing in pdx airport, ground wanted us to turn on taxiway A4 where GA was. Nearby was 2 challenger parked, making this turn too close for our aircraft. So, I made the decision not to proceed. Then, I continued to taxi to A3 and stop. We were waiting for someone to come and guide us. A gentleman came to us with a car. He gave us signals from his car. After my crew and I checked the airport commercial plate and made sure that we were legal to proceed through that taxiway, then we followed the car. Upon turning, we hit a blue taxiway light. The gentleman never advised us to stop. He came out of his car to inform us that we had hit a taxiway light. The problem was the person that was sent to guide us into the ramp never left his car. We advised the tower of what happened and they told us that they would inform airport auths. After about 45 mins no one showed up and we were released.
