Narrative:
While preparing feather test on #1 engine, propeller did not feather -- fuel flow was increasing and torque was increasing. Returned to gate. The embraer brasilia has a history of propeller problems. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: the reporter stated the hydromechanical metering unit or fuel control unit was replaced to correct the propeller feathering failure. The reporter said a power lever angle potentiometer had failed in the unit. The reporter stated the propeller system has been a problem with everything from throwing a blade, over-speeding and gear spline disconnecting in the feathering mechanism.
