Narrative:
Flight bfi to ykm. Filed flight plan IFR. Flight plan bfi V2 eln V25 ykm altitude 9000 ft minimum in route was 8000 ft. Approximately halfway to V2 pitot tube iced up. Lost airspeed indicator and notified ATC. Returned to bfi. The pitot heat was on. Aircraft has no way of showing if heat is working or not. Later found that pitot tube was inoperative.

RETURNED TO BFI. THE PITOT HEAT WAS ON. ACFT HAS NO WAY OF SHOWING IF HEAT IS WORKING OR NOT. LATER FOUND THAT PITOT TUBE WAS INOP.
