Narrative:
On parking at gate xyz at iah the aircraft marshaller did not command for the aircraft to stop in time before the #1 engine hit an air conditioning cart that was located under the jetway. The left engine sucked the air conditioning hose into the engine. If proper supervision and better training of the ground personnel had been conducted this incident would not have happened.

Title: A B737-500 WHILE BEING GUIDED ON TO A GATE STRUCK A PARKED AIR CONDITIONING CART INCURRING DAMAGE TO THE #1 ENG WHEN THE GUIDEMAN FAILED TO GIVE THE STOP SIGNAL.
Narrative: ON PARKING AT GATE XYZ AT IAH THE ACFT MARSHALLER DID NOT COMMAND FOR THE ACFT TO STOP IN TIME BEFORE THE #1 ENG HIT AN AIR CONDITIONING CART THAT WAS LOCATED UNDER THE JETWAY. THE L ENG SUCKED THE AIR CONDITIONING HOSE INTO THE ENG. IF PROPER SUPERVISION AND BETTER TRAINING OF THE GND PERSONNEL HAD BEEN CONDUCTED THIS INCIDENT WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED.
