Narrative:
We were being vectored onto the final approach by cvg control and there was a VFR aircraft 500 ft below us in the direction we had been turned. The controller called out the traffic. We did not see them and as we were passing over the traffic we were turned back toward final by approach control. When the controller did that we noticed he had turned us directly into traffic at same altitude at about 3 mi. As soon as he turned us he called out traffic alert and instructed us to climb. We started climbing and got an RA. So we climbed and turned eastward at the same time. We never got a visual on the traffic. We then got vectored back to final and descended to continue the approach. I think that cvg definitely needs to be upgraded to class B airspace. The amount of traffic in and out of the airport along with all of the VFR traffic at surrounding airspace dictates it.

Title: FLC OF CL65 ON VECTORS TO FINAL HAS TCASII ACTIVATE WITH TA, RA AS THE VECTOR ISSUED PUTS THEM AT SAME ALT HEADED DIRECTLY INTO TFC.
Narrative: WE WERE BEING VECTORED ONTO THE FINAL APCH BY CVG CTL AND THERE WAS A VFR ACFT 500 FT BELOW US IN THE DIRECTION WE HAD BEEN TURNED. THE CTLR CALLED OUT THE TFC. WE DID NOT SEE THEM AND AS WE WERE PASSING OVER THE TFC WE WERE TURNED BACK TOWARD FINAL BY APCH CTL. WHEN THE CTLR DID THAT WE NOTICED HE HAD TURNED US DIRECTLY INTO TFC AT SAME ALT AT ABOUT 3 MI. AS SOON AS HE TURNED US HE CALLED OUT TFC ALERT AND INSTRUCTED US TO CLB. WE STARTED CLBING AND GOT AN RA. SO WE CLBED AND TURNED EASTWARD AT THE SAME TIME. WE NEVER GOT A VISUAL ON THE TFC. WE THEN GOT VECTORED BACK TO FINAL AND DSNDED TO CONTINUE THE APCH. I THINK THAT CVG DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED TO CLASS B AIRSPACE. THE AMOUNT OF TFC IN AND OUT OF THE ARPT ALONG WITH ALL OF THE VFR TFC AT SURROUNDING AIRSPACE DICTATES IT.
