Narrative:

On vectors from the southeast to ILS runway 27L atl, heading north, crew acquired visual contact on traffic to follow. A turn and descent was initiated after being cleared for the visual runway 27L atl. Captain was PF. After scanning the instruments, looking outside, visual contact was lost with aircraft to follow. PNF contacted atl approach control and notified them that we needed vector, visual contact lost. They issued a left turn to 280 degrees. By this point we had flown through the runway 27L localizer and got a TA from north parallel traffic to runway 26R. PF initiated an evasive climb to avoid a DC9 air carrier Y aircraft. ATC issued a further left turn to 250 degrees to rejoin the localizer runway 27L. Atl approach switched us quickly to tower -- unable to advise atl of evasive maneuvers.

Title: NMAC BTWN AN ACR LTT TURBOPROP DSNDING AND TURNING INBOUND FOR A VISUAL, AND FLOWN THROUGH THE LOC, AND A DC9 ON APCH TO THE OTHER PARALLEL RWY. RPTR TOOK EVASIVE ACTION AND APCH CTLR TURNED THEM FURTHER BACK TO JOIN THE RWY LOC.

Narrative: ON VECTORS FROM THE SE TO ILS RWY 27L ATL, HDG N, CREW ACQUIRED VISUAL CONTACT ON TFC TO FOLLOW. A TURN AND DSCNT WAS INITIATED AFTER BEING CLRED FOR THE VISUAL RWY 27L ATL. CAPT WAS PF. AFTER SCANNING THE INSTS, LOOKING OUTSIDE, VISUAL CONTACT WAS LOST WITH ACFT TO FOLLOW. PNF CONTACTED ATL APCH CTL AND NOTIFIED THEM THAT WE NEEDED VECTOR, VISUAL CONTACT LOST. THEY ISSUED A L TURN TO 280 DEGS. BY THIS POINT WE HAD FLOWN THROUGH THE RWY 27L LOC AND GOT A TA FROM N PARALLEL TFC TO RWY 26R. PF INITIATED AN EVASIVE CLB TO AVOID A DC9 ACR Y ACFT. ATC ISSUED A FURTHER L TURN TO 250 DEGS TO REJOIN THE LOC RWY 27L. ATL APCH SWITCHED US QUICKLY TO TWR -- UNABLE TO ADVISE ATL OF EVASIVE MANEUVERS.
