Narrative:
B727-200 with major air carrier departed runway 5R. Rotation was approximately 6500 ft down with lift-off in overrun. Aircraft missed localizer antenna by a mere 5 ft. Recommend carriers re- evaluate takeoff performance during summer with these older less performing jets. Runway 5L was available and should have been used.
