Narrative:
Flying coatt 3 arrival to dulles airport, cleared to cross falko intersection at 11000 ft and 250 KIAS. Crossed as cleared. Controller switched us to dulles approach. On check-in with dulles the controller asked us to verify altitude, which we did (11000 ft). He asked if we were assigned 10000 ft and I said 'negative.' he said okay and gave us descent to 5000 ft. Nothing else said to us but it made me wonder enough to file this report.

Title: ACR B727 FLC ALLEGE ZDC CTLR ASSIGNED ALT OTHER THAN EXPECTED FROM TRACON APCH CTLR AS CLRED VIA THE COATT 3 STAR, IAD. NO FOLLOW-UP FROM TRACON CTLR.
Narrative: FLYING COATT 3 ARR TO DULLES ARPT, CLRED TO CROSS FALKO INTXN AT 11000 FT AND 250 KIAS. CROSSED AS CLRED. CTLR SWITCHED US TO DULLES APCH. ON CHK-IN WITH DULLES THE CTLR ASKED US TO VERIFY ALT, WHICH WE DID (11000 FT). HE ASKED IF WE WERE ASSIGNED 10000 FT AND I SAID 'NEGATIVE.' HE SAID OKAY AND GAVE US DSCNT TO 5000 FT. NOTHING ELSE SAID TO US BUT IT MADE ME WONDER ENOUGH TO FILE THIS RPT.
