Narrative:

Received clearance on ground at ged. First officer understood clearance as dqo- ard V214 metropolitan direct mmu. Departed ged and over dqo turned to proceed direct ard. Controller immediately noticed 50 degree course change and cleared us direct mxe. Controller questioned our clearance and said his strip read dqo mxe ard. Either clearance is commonly given for this route and missing mxe still gives crew a valid route even if incorrect. Controller stated that they have had problems with computer showing one route when other has been given to crew. We still are not completely sure if we were at fault or computer, but in the future we will have both crew listening to verify this routing.

Title: A G3 FLC HAS A PROB WITH THEIR ROUTING CLRNC. COPIED A CLRNC THAT DOV APCH CTLR SAID WAS NOT IN AGREEMENT WITH THEIR COMPUTER. CTLR SAYS THIS OCCURS ALL TOO FREQUENTLY ON THE DQO DIRECT ARD WHEN THE MXE VOR SEEMS TO BE LEFT OUT OF THE DIRECT ROUTING BTWN DQO-ARD.

Narrative: RECEIVED CLRNC ON GND AT GED. FO UNDERSTOOD CLRNC AS DQO- ARD V214 METRO DIRECT MMU. DEPARTED GED AND OVER DQO TURNED TO PROCEED DIRECT ARD. CTLR IMMEDIATELY NOTICED 50 DEG COURSE CHANGE AND CLRED US DIRECT MXE. CTLR QUESTIONED OUR CLRNC AND SAID HIS STRIP READ DQO MXE ARD. EITHER CLRNC IS COMMONLY GIVEN FOR THIS RTE AND MISSING MXE STILL GIVES CREW A VALID RTE EVEN IF INCORRECT. CTLR STATED THAT THEY HAVE HAD PROBS WITH COMPUTER SHOWING ONE RTE WHEN OTHER HAS BEEN GIVEN TO CREW. WE STILL ARE NOT COMPLETELY SURE IF WE WERE AT FAULT OR COMPUTER, BUT IN THE FUTURE WE WILL HAVE BOTH CREW LISTENING TO VERIFY THIS ROUTING.
