Narrative:
On preflight the crew found #2 main landing gear brake spurting hydraulic fluid. FBO replaced with an air carrier brake assembly which was in stock at the station. The maintenance manual for brake right&right was faxed to the station before work was started. The tire replacement maintenance manual was faxed while brake was being installed. When the air carrier mechanics came on shift, they found #2 main landing gear brake mounted 2 holes off of normal installation. Operations sent irregularity report data on log #1 on seat 12C, instead of log #3 the leaking brake and had a wrong reference listed, which I did not catch until after log #1 was accepted and cleared. Log #3 was cleared with proper references listed and maintenance records part numbers.
