Narrative:
Pdk tower cleared us for takeoff on runway 20L, to fly heading 225 degrees, 2 DME then 260 degree heading. While on the 225 degree heading tower called 3 different targets simultaneously, one of which flew just below us to our left. Pdk tower should have turned us or the C172 to avoid close encounter.

Narrative: PDK TWR CLRED US FOR TKOF ON RWY 20L, TO FLY HDG 225 DEGS, 2 DME THEN 260 DEG HDG. WHILE ON THE 225 DEG HDG TWR CALLED 3 DIFFERENT TARGETS SIMULTANEOUSLY, ONE OF WHICH FLEW JUST BELOW US TO OUR L. PDK TWR SHOULD HAVE TURNED US OR THE C172 TO AVOID CLOSE ENCOUNTER.
