Narrative:

I failed to realize that the departure clearance was not requested, nor received, during the before start checklist. It was at liftoff that the first officer advised me he had failed to request the clearance. The clearance was retrieved via ACARS. I should have checked twice during the checklist and caught the missing clearance. Supplemental information from acn 409500: got distraction and forgot to obtain clearance via ACARS. Missed transponder item on checklist.

Title: PLTS ON ACR FLT FROM DFW REALIZED ON LIFTOFF THAT THEY HAD NOT RECEIVED THEIR ATC CLRNC VIA ACARS.

Narrative: I FAILED TO REALIZE THAT THE DEP CLRNC WAS NOT REQUESTED, NOR RECEIVED, DURING THE BEFORE START CHKLIST. IT WAS AT LIFTOFF THAT THE FO ADVISED ME HE HAD FAILED TO REQUEST THE CLRNC. THE CLRNC WAS RETRIEVED VIA ACARS. I SHOULD HAVE CHKED TWICE DURING THE CHKLIST AND CAUGHT THE MISSING CLRNC. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 409500: GOT DISTR AND FORGOT TO OBTAIN CLRNC VIA ACARS. MISSED XPONDER ITEM ON CHKLIST.
