Narrative:
20 mins after takeoff out of abq, we experienced the loss of our system 'a' hydraulic system (quantity and pressure). Indications were zero pressure and quantity on the 'a' system quantity and pressure indicators. In addition both amber 'a' system low pressure lights on the so panel were on. The first officer instrument panel had the amber 'leading edge flap' light on and the 'aileron, rudder, and elevator system' 'a' lights on. The flight attendants heard a loud pop in the rear of the aircraft as the flight crew noticed the loss of quantity and pressure. All procedures for loss of pressure and quantity for system 'a' were followed in accordance with the checklist. We diverted into dfw and did a 15 degree flap landing (in accordance with the checklist). An uneventful landing was made. We landed and stopped on the runway while we waited for a tug to tow us to the gate.
