Taxiing out of company ramp jfk, company ramp personnel said to 'taxi up to 'la' and contact ground, follow B767 ahead.' we did that, but were in error. We should have gone to 'kk' to call ground control.

Title: CREW ON B727 INSTRUCTED BY COMPANY RAMP CTL TO FOLLOW B767. CREW TAXIED INTO MOVEMENT AREA WITHOUT CLRNC FROM GND CTL.
Narrative: TAXIING OUT OF COMPANY RAMP JFK, COMPANY RAMP PERSONNEL SAID TO 'TAXI UP TO 'LA' AND CONTACT GND, FOLLOW B767 AHEAD.' WE DID THAT, BUT WERE IN ERROR. WE SHOULD HAVE GONE TO 'KK' TO CALL GND CTL.
