Narrative:

While doing touch-and-goes at Y47, my student landed the aircraft. We were left of center and drifting left. I said, 'ok, let's go around.' no response. I repeated, no response. I took control too late to stop so we tried to climb. We were slow and had a hard time gaining speed or altitude. We missed trees by about 20-30 ft, then passed a subdivision. We missed houses by approximately 50 ft. Lesson: instill the importance of go around procedures and reaction time in students.
