Narrative:

I was working on a deferred item to change a broken seat back in main cabin. I installed the new seat back. I noticed the removed seat and the new one didn't have any masks or oxygen cylinder generators. I told my lead about this. I signed off the installation and returned the damaged seat back to stores (ZZZ) to be rerouted to xyz cabin shop. Weeks later I am informed that xyz claims there was an oxygen generator in the seat back. I believed there is a mistake to say that I turned in that particular seat back. I have informed my manager and team leader and made statements to the fact that I routed a return seat back with no generators in it. I believe that the return tag may have been mistakenly picked up and matched to the wrong seat back while in xyz cabin shop.
