Narrative:

Before the last (12TH) leg of a 3-DAY trip (smf-lax), the captain reported to maintenance that the taxi light had not come on while taxiing in. Mechanic chanted the bulb, light tested ok, and we told him we'd be looking for the new maintenance release document he'd promised over ACARS. We got caught up in the momentum of a quick-turn and checklists and the new maintenance release document was forgotten. Net result -- a leg was flown with the taxi light operative, but written up, and not a new maintenance release.
