Narrative:
I was giving instruction on complex procedures. It was the student's first lesson on complex procedures. We were using runway 18 with wind at 150 degrees at 13 KTS gusting 23 KTS. The student had quickly grasped the cc gumps routine and had performed the last few lndgs flawlessly. We had been up 1.3 hours and were focusing on crosswind landing techniques. After landing, the student cleaned up the airplane and was applying power. As back pressure was put in the nose gear came up, resulting in a propeller strike and the plane skidding to a halt about 15 yards down the runway. Neither myself or the student was injured. The plane did not sustain substantial damage. Upon inspecting the plane the gear handle was found in the up position. I did not see the student pull the gear handle and he has no recollection of touching it during the cleaning up of the aircraft.

Title: A C172RG EXPERIENCES A NOSE GEAR COLLAPSING DURING A TOUCH AND GO MANEUVER DURING A TRAINING SESSION WITH A STUDENT PLT AND INSTRUCTOR PLT. ACFT THEN HAS A PROP STRIKE AND SKIDS TO A HALT, ON ITS NOSE.
Narrative: I WAS GIVING INSTRUCTION ON COMPLEX PROCS. IT WAS THE STUDENT'S FIRST LESSON ON COMPLEX PROCS. WE WERE USING RWY 18 WITH WIND AT 150 DEGS AT 13 KTS GUSTING 23 KTS. THE STUDENT HAD QUICKLY GRASPED THE CC GUMPS ROUTINE AND HAD PERFORMED THE LAST FEW LNDGS FLAWLESSLY. WE HAD BEEN UP 1.3 HRS AND WERE FOCUSING ON XWIND LNDG TECHNIQUES. AFTER LNDG, THE STUDENT CLEANED UP THE AIRPLANE AND WAS APPLYING PWR. AS BACK PRESSURE WAS PUT IN THE NOSE GEAR CAME UP, RESULTING IN A PROP STRIKE AND THE PLANE SKIDDING TO A HALT ABOUT 15 YARDS DOWN THE RWY. NEITHER MYSELF OR THE STUDENT WAS INJURED. THE PLANE DID NOT SUSTAIN SUBSTANTIAL DAMAGE. UPON INSPECTING THE PLANE THE GEAR HANDLE WAS FOUND IN THE UP POS. I DID NOT SEE THE STUDENT PULL THE GEAR HANDLE AND HE HAS NO RECOLLECTION OF TOUCHING IT DURING THE CLEANING UP OF THE ACFT.
