Narrative:
After landing on private grass runway, I had slowed to about 20 mph. A deer ran out of a grove of trees near the runway, and came right at the airplane. I used maximum braking and the airplane immediately flipped onto its back -- no injuries. Damage to aircraft substantial -- should have hit the deer.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: PLT OF A BELLANCA SCOUT BL28 TRIED TO STOP IN ORDER TO MISS A DEER RUNNING TOWARD HIM DURING LNDG ROLL CAUSING THE ACFT TO FLIP OVER. THE SCOUT IS A TAILWHEEL TYPE ACFT. THE ACFT RECEIVED SUBSTANTIAL FINANCIAL DAMAGE, BUT NOT THE TYPE THAT WOULD CLASSIFY IT AS AN ACCIDENT.
