Narrative:

Original aircraft had been written up by previous flight crew as 'at FL250 with throttles at flight idle, cabin climbed at 1220 FPM in automatic and 300 FPM in standby.' maintenance put #1 and #3 engine 13TH stage bleed-air modulating valves on mco with MEL. This write-off was absurd and told maintenance coordinator same. He agreed but said nothing would be done unless I refused aircraft. I did, and we were given another aircraft. This one had an autoplt inoperative'ed for altitude alert capture problem in one channel.
