Narrative:
On base leg for runway 16R, with flaps extending from 2-5 degrees, leading edge flap in-transit light remained illuminated. Confirmed with so indicator panel. Followed procedures and went out on second attempt. Extension per procedures. #1 slat extended normally, approach and landing normal. This same thing happened several times before on this aircraft.

Title: B727 CREW HAD LEADING EDGE FLAP IN TRANSIT LIGHT ON WHEN EXTENDING THE FLAPS.
Narrative: ON BASE LEG FOR RWY 16R, WITH FLAPS EXTENDING FROM 2-5 DEGS, LEADING EDGE FLAP IN-TRANSIT LIGHT REMAINED ILLUMINATED. CONFIRMED WITH SO INDICATOR PANEL. FOLLOWED PROCS AND WENT OUT ON SECOND ATTEMPT. EXTENSION PER PROCS. #1 SLAT EXTENDED NORMALLY, APCH AND LNDG NORMAL. THIS SAME THING HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES BEFORE ON THIS ACFT.
