Narrative:
Prior to takeoff, tower advised us of birds near the runway. We taxied into position, turned the radar on, and made a visual inspection that we did not see any birds at that time. Well into the takeoff roll, about 20-40 sparrows flew out of the grass onto the runway area. We impacted, at a minimum, 3 birds. I aborted the takeoff at approximately 90 KTS. After taxi back, we made a thorough inspection, seeing 3 impacts on our nosecone. The tower took a very brief report from us via radio and telephone. The airport police later advised me that this is a recurring problem at their airport.
