Narrative:
Aircraft #1 on sep/xa/98 was given sfo 8 - czq as filed by sfo clearance delivery for takeoff on runway 1L. Takeoff was initiated and as initial turn of 030 degrees was begun, copilot noticed an MD80 (aircraft Y) had taken off runway 1R and was in parallel 030 degree turn. Captain stopped turn at 015 degrees and sfo tower called for heading and SID. Tower informed aircraft Y SID was intended to be porte 3 SID and requested an immediate left turn to 180 degrees. Next transmission was to call for 'pilot deviation' and to call sfo tower. On arrival in phx, call was made and the captain was informed of controller error in SID assignment.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: ACR B737 FLC RECOGNIZE PROB ON CLBOUT DUE TO TFC AHEAD ON DEP AND ADVISE TWR. TWR TURNS B737 FLC L FOR VECTOR TO ANOTHER SID. PIC ASKED TO CALL REACHING DEST. WHEN PIC CALLED, TWR SUPVR ADVISED CTLR ERROR IN ASSIGNING WRONG SID PRIOR TO DEP.
Narrative: ACFT #1 ON SEP/XA/98 WAS GIVEN SFO 8 - CZQ AS FILED BY SFO CLRNC DELIVERY FOR TKOF ON RWY 1L. TKOF WAS INITIATED AND AS INITIAL TURN OF 030 DEGS WAS BEGUN, COPLT NOTICED AN MD80 (ACFT Y) HAD TAKEN OFF RWY 1R AND WAS IN PARALLEL 030 DEG TURN. CAPT STOPPED TURN AT 015 DEGS AND SFO TWR CALLED FOR HDG AND SID. TWR INFORMED ACFT Y SID WAS INTENDED TO BE PORTE 3 SID AND REQUESTED AN IMMEDIATE L TURN TO 180 DEGS. NEXT XMISSION WAS TO CALL FOR 'PLTDEV' AND TO CALL SFO TWR. ON ARR IN PHX, CALL WAS MADE AND THE CAPT WAS INFORMED OF CTLR ERROR IN SID ASSIGNMENT.
