Narrative:
I had just established on the localizer for runway 8 at bur at 3000 ft and 2 NM west of budde (FAF). ATC had advised me of conflicting traffic, a light aircraft transiting the area at an unknown altitude. This contact turned into a TA followed very quickly by an RA. I applied full power and climbed thus avoiding any possible collision. I advised ATC of the RA and subsequently carried out a visual approach to runway 8. TA's in the bur and vny areas are very common. Light aircraft and high performance aircraft (airbus 300, B737, gulfstreams 5, 4, 3, 2B) do not mix. The heavier types have limited maneuvering ability unlike the slower light aircraft. Moreover, when TA's occur, light aircraft never appear to deviate and seem totally oblivious to any threat! I foresee an accident happening here and soon. Why are there no corridors for these transiting light aircraft away from departure lanes/approach paths at both bur and vny? I have submitted form 8740-5 to the FAA.

Title: FLC PF GIV HAS TCASII RA ON APCH JUST PRIOR TO THE FAF. CLB INITIATED TO AVOID THE TFC.
Narrative: I HAD JUST ESTABLISHED ON THE LOC FOR RWY 8 AT BUR AT 3000 FT AND 2 NM W OF BUDDE (FAF). ATC HAD ADVISED ME OF CONFLICTING TFC, A LIGHT ACFT TRANSITING THE AREA AT AN UNKNOWN ALT. THIS CONTACT TURNED INTO A TA FOLLOWED VERY QUICKLY BY AN RA. I APPLIED FULL PWR AND CLBED THUS AVOIDING ANY POSSIBLE COLLISION. I ADVISED ATC OF THE RA AND SUBSEQUENTLY CARRIED OUT A VISUAL APCH TO RWY 8. TA'S IN THE BUR AND VNY AREAS ARE VERY COMMON. LIGHT ACFT AND HIGH PERFORMANCE ACFT (AIRBUS 300, B737, GULFSTREAMS 5, 4, 3, 2B) DO NOT MIX. THE HEAVIER TYPES HAVE LIMITED MANEUVERING ABILITY UNLIKE THE SLOWER LIGHT ACFT. MOREOVER, WHEN TA'S OCCUR, LIGHT ACFT NEVER APPEAR TO DEVIATE AND SEEM TOTALLY OBLIVIOUS TO ANY THREAT! I FORESEE AN ACCIDENT HAPPENING HERE AND SOON. WHY ARE THERE NO CORRIDORS FOR THESE TRANSITING LIGHT ACFT AWAY FROM DEP LANES/APCH PATHS AT BOTH BUR AND VNY? I HAVE SUBMITTED FORM 8740-5 TO THE FAA.
