Narrative:
I was training trainee controller on R44. When we relieved the sector we were told about the conflict between aircraft X and aircraft Y. The relieved controller asked if we wanted him to separate the 2 aircraft. She said no, that she had it. The 2 aircraft got north of J42 when I told her to climb aircraft X. Aircraft Y was turned 30 degrees right and aircraft X was turned 30 degrees left when separation was lost.
