Narrative:
Upon landing in escanaba, mi, we were decelerating through about 100 KTS when we saw a herd of deer on the right side of the runway. We were landing runway 9. The captain immediately went into full reverse and used full brakes while still maintaining the centerline. The deer went to our left and we missed about 7, but struck 1 with our nose gear at about 60-70 KTS. We came to a full stop and called for crash fire rescue equipment to come out and inspect us on the runway. After about 20 mins, we were told everything looked ok, that the deer only hit our nose gear and everything seemed ok. We taxied to parking and unloaded the passenger. Upon inspection of the aircraft, there was a flat right front tire, a broken landing light, and deer blood over everything. There were no other actions taken except to notify our company. Supplemental information from acn 418913: airport is surrounded by 9 ft fence, but deer continue to be a problem. There needs to be a concerted effort made by airport management to see all breaches in fences be remedied. We were fortunate that we did not hit the rest of the 8 (or so), make contact with engines, propellers or were any faster.

Title: A LNDG SF340 HITS 1 OF 8 DEER SEEN ON THE RWY DURING A NIGHT OP.
Narrative: UPON LNDG IN ESCANABA, MI, WE WERE DECELERATING THROUGH ABOUT 100 KTS WHEN WE SAW A HERD OF DEER ON THE R SIDE OF THE RWY. WE WERE LNDG RWY 9. THE CAPT IMMEDIATELY WENT INTO FULL REVERSE AND USED FULL BRAKES WHILE STILL MAINTAINING THE CTRLINE. THE DEER WENT TO OUR L AND WE MISSED ABOUT 7, BUT STRUCK 1 WITH OUR NOSE GEAR AT ABOUT 60-70 KTS. WE CAME TO A FULL STOP AND CALLED FOR CFR TO COME OUT AND INSPECT US ON THE RWY. AFTER ABOUT 20 MINS, WE WERE TOLD EVERYTHING LOOKED OK, THAT THE DEER ONLY HIT OUR NOSE GEAR AND EVERYTHING SEEMED OK. WE TAXIED TO PARKING AND UNLOADED THE PAX. UPON INSPECTION OF THE ACFT, THERE WAS A FLAT R FRONT TIRE, A BROKEN LNDG LIGHT, AND DEER BLOOD OVER EVERYTHING. THERE WERE NO OTHER ACTIONS TAKEN EXCEPT TO NOTIFY OUR COMPANY. SUPPLEMENTAL INFO FROM ACN 418913: ARPT IS SURROUNDED BY 9 FT FENCE, BUT DEER CONTINUE TO BE A PROB. THERE NEEDS TO BE A CONCERTED EFFORT MADE BY ARPT MGMNT TO SEE ALL BREACHES IN FENCES BE REMEDIED. WE WERE FORTUNATE THAT WE DID NOT HIT THE REST OF THE 8 (OR SO), MAKE CONTACT WITH ENGS, PROPS OR WERE ANY FASTER.
