Narrative:
While on a vector for a visual arrival to teb, new york departure descended us to 3000 ft MSL on a vector, then cleared us to wanes intersection. Upon arrival at 3000 ft MSL, our TCASII alerted an RA descend and traffic alert. We immediately descended to 2600 ft MSL as TCASII indicates and traffic alert eliminates. We never saw traffic. We advised ARTCC of our RA descent and climbed back to 3000 ft MSL. He said 'there were a lot of wkend flyers out today' and called several other VFR traffic.
