Narrative:
On the second consecutive night on a regularly scheduled sequence containing 4 legs, I exceeded 8 hours of domestic flying time within a 24 hour period. Having flown 7 hours 59 mins the day before, myself, the other 2 crew members, and our company failed to recognize the fact that on the second night (the night when the violation occurred) each blockout time must be no earlier than 24 hours from that leg the night before. On oct/tue/98, we blocked out of leg #2 at XB00Z and on oct/wed/98 we blocked out at XA45Z. Thus 'carrying' an additional 14 mins beyond the regulation's 8 hour maximum flight time. Upon discovering this fact at the end of leg #2, we adjusted all subsequent legs for the rest of the week so as not to exceed 8 hours in 24.

Title: FLC OF AN ACR HVT EXCEEDED FLT TIME DUTY LIMITS BY BLOCKING OUT ON THE NEXT SCHEDULED FLT PRIOR TO THE COMPLETION OF THE REQUIRED 24 HR REST PERIOD FOR SUPPLEMENTAL OPERATORS.

UPON DISCOVERING THIS FACT AT THE END OF LEG #2, WE ADJUSTED ALL SUBSEQUENT LEGS FOR THE REST OF THE WK SO AS NOT TO EXCEED 8 HRS IN 24.
