Narrative:
Cleared for visual approach by ATC runway 14R at ord 170 KTS assigned until chester fix. Allowed speed to reduce to 160 KTS outside chester. ATC asked about speed. Immediately increased back to 170 KTS. No problem with traffic and no resequencing was required. Wind was very gusty and rough ride conditions. Wind was westerly and very gusty.

Title: CAPT OF A CPR MDT JET FAILED TO MAINTAIN ASSIGNED AIRSPD TO AN APCH FIX DURING A VISUAL APCH RESULTING IN CTLR INTERVENING TO REMIND RPTR OF SPD REQUIREMENT.
Narrative: CLRED FOR VISUAL APCH BY ATC RWY 14R AT ORD 170 KTS ASSIGNED UNTIL CHESTER FIX. ALLOWED SPD TO REDUCE TO 160 KTS OUTSIDE CHESTER. ATC ASKED ABOUT SPD.
