Narrative:
I didn't descend fast enough on the visual approach to runway 34L at reno and it became apparent on short final that a go around would be necessary. Tower granted permission to maneuver west of the airport. We maneuvered to the west and then repositioned the aircraft on a normal glide path and made an uneventful landing.
