Narrative:
We encountered apparently clear air turbulence or turbulence from some other source. A passenger was injured and a medical divert was accomplished to get the passenger medical attention. Problem of communication: approximately 6 aircraft from this airport had departed before us. 2 other airports are in close proximity. No information regarding bad rides were given to us by any aircraft, the controllers, or our airline dispatcher. We made PIREPS to our dispatchers and the departure controller after encountering the bad ride. ATC and airline giving quicker information when safety of flight issues are encountered.
