Narrative:
We were holding in position on runway 13L dal, and tower advised us of traffic we were following off runway 13R. The runway 13R (B737) aircraft took off and went through a cloud layer. Tower cleared us to take off on runway 13L and on climb out approach control asked if we had a visual on traffic at 12 O'clock. They gave us a turn to the south and questioned us about the tower giving us a takeoff clearance without a visual on the B737. The problem was dal tower clearing us for takeoff without a visual on the B737. We could not see the B737 in our climb out. The B737 couldn't see us because we were behind him. I really don't have a good solution to this one except to really watch what's going on after popping out of a cloud deck.
