Narrative:

Lax arrival conflicts. While flying the pdz 2 arrival to lax, we were told to maintain visual separation with an air carrier B737. We were also assigned 320 KTS. Our turn onto the lax ILS radial put us too close to the B737, which was flying an approach to the runways 24. We fly the assigned arrival, but I feel that we should have been given an altitude separation by approach control. The 2 arrs coincide, almost. We received an RA to descend and did so. I feel that the civet and paradise arrs need to be staggered more. We really needed the visual ability in this case, or might have had a real problem.
