Narrative:

On sep/xa/98 mechanic xyz and myself were doing a periodic service/overnight check on aircraft zyx. We found #3 main landing gear brake out of limits. We removed and replaced #3 medium large transport brake assembly. We checked the FAA form XXXX. We leak checked brake and we operations checked brake. The installation and checks of the brake were normal. On dec/xa/98 we were notified by the union that there were numerous brakes in the system for B727 aircraft (part number) that have had problems associated with shop overhaul.

Title: A B727-200 HAD #3 BRAKE INSTALLED THAT MAY HAVE BEEN ASSEMBLED IMPROPERLY IN THE BRAKE OVERHAUL SHOP.

ON DEC/XA/98 WE WERE NOTIFIED BY THE UNION THAT THERE WERE NUMEROUS BRAKES IN THE SYS FOR B727 ACFT (PART NUMBER) THAT HAVE HAD PROBS ASSOCIATED WITH SHOP OVERHAUL.
