Narrative:
We received a clearance in dfw for the following departure route 'kingdom 3 radar vectors bekdle, ama, FL190 etc...' we departed dfw and after several turns were assigned a heading which we continued to fly in the absence of further instructions. We were in light to moderate turbulence and icing conditions, as well as level 2-4 radar return WX cells. After flying the assigned heading for quite awhile we were asked by ATC what our clearance was, we gave the above clearance to which ATC replied that's not what we show. However, no new clearance was received so we continued on our assigned heading. Another frequency change brought the same clearance question, but again no new clearance. We by now were concerned as the turn to ama should have been made. We were receiving ama VOR and the radar was showing less returns in that direction so we turned direct to ama and proceeded with no further comment on our clearance from ATC. This can be avoided by giving standard, consistent, departure routing to aircraft out of dfw.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: AN SF340 FLC FLIES A HEADING THAT IS NOT IN ACCORD WITH THE FLT PLAN THAT ATC HAD FOR THE FLT. TWO DIFFERENT SECTOR CTLRS QUESTION THE FLT WITH NO RESOLUTION MADE. PIC PROCEEDED DIRECT TO AMA WHEN WX PERMITTED.
Narrative: WE RECEIVED A CLRNC IN DFW FOR THE FOLLOWING DEP RTE 'KINGDOM 3 RADAR VECTORS BEKDLE, AMA, FL190 ETC...' WE DEPARTED DFW AND AFTER SEVERAL TURNS WERE ASSIGNED A HEADING WHICH WE CONTINUED TO FLY IN THE ABSENCE OF FURTHER INSTRUCTIONS. WE WERE IN LIGHT TO MODERATE TURB AND ICING CONDITIONS, AS WELL AS LEVEL 2-4 RADAR RETURN WX CELLS. AFTER FLYING THE ASSIGNED HEADING FOR QUITE AWHILE WE WERE ASKED BY ATC WHAT OUR CLRNC WAS, WE GAVE THE ABOVE CLRNC TO WHICH ATC REPLIED THAT'S NOT WHAT WE SHOW. HOWEVER, NO NEW CLRNC WAS RECEIVED SO WE CONTINUED ON OUR ASSIGNED HEADING. ANOTHER FREQ CHANGE BROUGHT THE SAME CLRNC QUESTION, BUT AGAIN NO NEW CLRNC. WE BY NOW WERE CONCERNED AS THE TURN TO AMA SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE. WE WERE RECEIVING AMA VOR AND THE RADAR WAS SHOWING LESS RETURNS IN THAT DIRECTION SO WE TURNED DIRECT TO AMA AND PROCEEDED WITH NO FURTHER COMMENT ON OUR CLRNC FROM ATC. THIS CAN BE AVOIDED BY GIVING STANDARD, CONSISTENT, DEP ROUTING TO ACFT OUT OF DFW.
