Narrative:
The centerline markings (painted) were just about impossible to see on runway 26 at lbb. It was very difficult to keep my aircraft on the center of the runway during our takeoff roll (safety hazard). Both landing lights and taxi light on our aircraft were 'on' and working. First officer reported this to tower on climb out. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter states that the tower response when informed of the problem was just 'ok.' he was just about to abort the takeoff when he caught a glimpse of portions of the centerline. He feels this is an extremely unsafe condition.

Title: ATR72 CAPT RPT REGARDING THE LACK OF VISIBILITY OF THE CTRLINE RWY MARKINGS MADE IT ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE THEM AT NIGHT FOR TKOF.
Narrative: THE CTRLINE MARKINGS (PAINTED) WERE JUST ABOUT IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE ON RWY 26 AT LBB. IT WAS VERY DIFFICULT TO KEEP MY ACFT ON THE CTR OF THE RWY DURING OUR TKOF ROLL (SAFETY HAZARD). BOTH LNDG LIGHTS AND TAXI LIGHT ON OUR ACFT WERE 'ON' AND WORKING. FO RPTED THIS TO TWR ON CLBOUT. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: RPTR STATES THAT THE TWR RESPONSE WHEN INFORMED OF THE PROB WAS JUST 'OK.' HE WAS JUST ABOUT TO ABORT THE TKOF WHEN HE CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF PORTIONS OF THE CTRLINE. HE FEELS THIS IS AN EXTREMELY UNSAFE CONDITION.
