Narrative:
Upon landing on runway 4R ord, ground cleared the flight to taxi to gate. After turning at D1 intersection and established on taxiway D, a city truck suddenly appeared from right to left very close to aircraft nose. Captain applied maximum braking as the truck continued its right to left track. After complete stop of aircraft, it was very difficult to ascertain whether there was even contact. Ground was contacted as truck continued on, and taxi to gate was completed. At gate, inspection found that nose was damaged. Company was contacted and paperwork completed. Cause: blatant disregard by city truck to yield to aircraft's right-of-way. Then truck's disrespect to leave the scene. Prevention: crew took only option of maximum braking as truck appeared at high speed from out of sight in front of aircraft. Supplemental information from acn 424356: damage was done to the nose of the radome as well as to the truck that hit us.
