Narrative:
While beginning a cross country training flight from concord, ca, to santa barbara, ca, I inadvertently entered the san francisco class B. The controller alerted me to this fact, then cleared me through the class B. I believe that the problem was caused by my inexperience in dealing with class B airspace, being new to this area and the distraction of instructing a student on her first cross country. To prevent a recurrence, I feel I need to become more familiar with this area and the altitudes class B encompasses. I also feel that I should have been more thorough in my preflight discussion with my student. The other actions that could be instituted to prevent this from happening again are: starting a new instruction at the flight school training instructors on the specifics of the sfo class B.
