30 mins into the flight, flight attendant reported a passenger noted fluid on top of left wing. Cockpit crew member went back and verified fluid was trailing back from leading edge. Unable to determine source so decision was made to return to madrid. Overweight landing was made after reviewing all manuals and procedures. Emergency equipment was requested and landing was made at 357200 pounds. Sink rate 100 FPM at touchdown.

Title: B767 CREW HAD FLUID OBSERVED LEAKING OVER THE WING.

Narrative: 30 MINS INTO THE FLT, FLT ATTENDANT RPTED A PAX NOTED FLUID ON TOP OF L WING. COCKPIT CREW MEMBER WENT BACK AND VERIFIED FLUID WAS TRAILING BACK FROM LEADING EDGE. UNABLE TO DETERMINE SOURCE SO DECISION WAS MADE TO RETURN TO MADRID. OVERWT LNDG WAS MADE AFTER REVIEWING ALL MANUALS AND PROCS. EMER EQUIP WAS REQUESTED AND LNDG WAS MADE AT 357200 LBS.
