Air Traffic Incident | Pilot Deviation |
Narrative:
Cleared by tower to enter right downwind to runway 9R. Reported downwind to tower entered downwind and observed high towers and blimp operating to the left of downwind. Allowed myself to move further right close in to avoid blimp area. Turned base and final and mistakenly lined up with runway 9L. Tower called me to break off approach and advised that a jet had to go around because of me. I broke off approach and landed runway 9R without incident. Was told airliner went around. No further dialog with tower. Copilot also 5000 hour pilot, did not note wrong runway. Contributing factors: fatigue. Long personal business day delayed first in am by 4 hour maintenance delay. Customs in bahamas, late departure from bahamas. Diversion to fll from fxe because customs close at XX00 pm. Frustration because of having to divert and then shuttle business associates back to exe after customs. Traffic heavy at airport. Controllers busy with multiple aircraft.
