Narrative:
I was practicing lndgs at my home field, mcgregor municipal airport (pwg). Winds were 280 degrees at 15 KTS gusting to 20 KTS. I landed on runway 22, and while preparing to stop for a stop-and-go, I mistakenly pushed the throttle to full instead of pulling it to idle. I immediately pulled it to idle, but the sudden burst of speed caused the nosewheel to shimmy. I pulled back on the yoke to take weight off the nose, but in doing so, I brought the ailerons to neutral instead of correcting for the crosswind. The aircraft was then pushed off the left side of the runway by the gusting crosswind. I applied the brakes to bring the aircraft to a stop, but before a stop could be made the aircraft crossed a taxiway which damaged the nose gear and caused the aircraft to nose into the mud. I was not injured. This incident may have been mitigated if I had more recent flying experience (I've had none in the last 4 months) and more crosswind experience.

Title: A PVT PLT PRACTICING TOUCH-AND-GO LNDGS AT PWG EXITED THE RWY ON LNDG CAUSING DAMAGE TO ACFT.
Narrative: I WAS PRACTICING LNDGS AT MY HOME FIELD, MCGREGOR MUNICIPAL ARPT (PWG). WINDS WERE 280 DEGS AT 15 KTS GUSTING TO 20 KTS. I LANDED ON RWY 22, AND WHILE PREPARING TO STOP FOR A STOP-AND-GO, I MISTAKENLY PUSHED THE THROTTLE TO FULL INSTEAD OF PULLING IT TO IDLE. I IMMEDIATELY PULLED IT TO IDLE, BUT THE SUDDEN BURST OF SPD CAUSED THE NOSEWHEEL TO SHIMMY. I PULLED BACK ON THE YOKE TO TAKE WT OFF THE NOSE, BUT IN DOING SO, I BROUGHT THE AILERONS TO NEUTRAL INSTEAD OF CORRECTING FOR THE XWIND. THE ACFT WAS THEN PUSHED OFF THE L SIDE OF THE RWY BY THE GUSTING XWIND. I APPLIED THE BRAKES TO BRING THE ACFT TO A STOP, BUT BEFORE A STOP COULD BE MADE THE ACFT CROSSED A TXWY WHICH DAMAGED THE NOSE GEAR AND CAUSED THE ACFT TO NOSE INTO THE MUD. I WAS NOT INJURED. THIS INCIDENT MAY HAVE BEEN MITIGATED IF I HAD MORE RECENT FLYING EXPERIENCE (I'VE HAD NONE IN THE LAST 4 MONTHS) AND MORE XWIND EXPERIENCE.
