Narrative:

After leveling at 13000 ft, controller asked us to verify our altitude. We responded that we had been cleared to 13000 ft. The controller thought we had been assigned 10000 ft. There was no other traffic in area. After a discussion between crew members we were fairly certain we had been assigned 13000 ft. Our flight was a relatively short one compared to most ord jet departures. Perhaps the controller cleared us to a higher altitude out of habit. After altitude was verified, we requested 14000 ft as a final altitude and flight continued to pia uneventfully.
