It has been brought to my attention that I incorrectly deferred repair to the emergency floor track lighting clear lens cover by using general procedures manual xyz. I am clear now on the correct use of general procedures manual xyz and will refrain from deferring any safety related item with it. Arrangements have been made to repair the aircraft prior to the next flight here at ZZZ.

Narrative: IT HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO MY ATTN THAT I INCORRECTLY DEFERRED REPAIR TO THE EMER FLOOR TRACK LIGHTING CLR LENS COVER BY USING GENERAL PROCS MANUAL XYZ. I AM CLR NOW ON THE CORRECT USE OF GENERAL PROCS MANUAL XYZ AND WILL REFRAIN FROM DEFERRING ANY SAFETY RELATED ITEM WITH IT. ARRANGEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE TO REPAIR THE ACFT PRIOR TO THE NEXT FLT HERE AT ZZZ.
