Narrative:

I was the PNF and the first officer was the PF. Tower told us, 'taxi into position and hold.' we taxied onto the runway and completed our 'runway' checklist and then we started the takeoff roll. Tower controller said, 'you are not cleared for takeoff.' we aborted the takeoff and realized our mistake. We thought we were cleared for takeoff when we were supposed to taxi into position and hold.

TWR CTLR SAID, 'YOU ARE NOT CLRED FOR TKOF.' WE ABORTED THE TKOF AND REALIZED OUR MISTAKE. WE THOUGHT WE WERE CLRED FOR TKOF WHEN WE WERE SUPPOSED TO TAXI INTO POS AND HOLD.
