Narrative:
VMC approach to oak. Bay approach working us straight in and another jet sequenced behind us on a right downwind. Approach told us to keep our speed up to the fence, and forgot to ship us over to tower. The above phrase is something I would expect to hear from tower (approach control normally tells us to keep our speed up to the marker -- the handoff point), so I convinced myself I was on tower frequency. The first officer even asked at 200 ft AGL if we were cleared to land. I said 'yes,' not wanting distrs that close to the ground. I checked the radio on rollout to find we were still on bay approach, switched to tower and said, 'I hope we were cleared to land.' we were the only aircraft moving on the field and tower said, 'no problem.'

Title: ACR CREW LANDS AT OAK WITHOUT CLRNC.
Narrative: VMC APCH TO OAK. BAY APCH WORKING US STRAIGHT IN AND ANOTHER JET SEQUENCED BEHIND US ON A R DOWNWIND. APCH TOLD US TO KEEP OUR SPD UP TO THE FENCE, AND FORGOT TO SHIP US OVER TO TWR. THE ABOVE PHRASE IS SOMETHING I WOULD EXPECT TO HEAR FROM TWR (APCH CTL NORMALLY TELLS US TO KEEP OUR SPD UP TO THE MARKER -- THE HDOF POINT), SO I CONVINCED MYSELF I WAS ON TWR FREQ. THE FO EVEN ASKED AT 200 FT AGL IF WE WERE CLRED TO LAND. I SAID 'YES,' NOT WANTING DISTRS THAT CLOSE TO THE GND. I CHKED THE RADIO ON ROLLOUT TO FIND WE WERE STILL ON BAY APCH, SWITCHED TO TWR AND SAID, 'I HOPE WE WERE CLRED TO LAND.' WE WERE THE ONLY ACFT MOVING ON THE FIELD AND TWR SAID, 'NO PROB.'
