Narrative:
Departing cabo, mexico, to los angeles, ca, we received our clearance with some confusion from sjd tower, just prior to departure. Our paperwork had us cleared from sjd to lax via marux intersection (sjd 003/047), lap, UJ9 to julian, julian arrival to lax. We were told cleared 'on course as filed.' passing about 8000 ft MSL, we were asked if we were established on the 320 degree radial (the direct lap routing). We replied we were proceeding direct to marux as filed. We were told to intercept the 320 degree radial to lap. It was further clarified to go lap-UJ9, julian 'as filed.' so the departure routing from sjd to lap was the big question. Our paperwork had one routing and cabo departure was expecting something different. This was brought up to our dispatch.
